It Takes Heart

Yeasayer is a great band. They do it by not only being great musicians, but by using intricate electric/acoustic percussion and melodies straight from the soul. Making music right from the source is something that makes bands a little standoff-ish, thus in my opinion keeping the fans honest..

By far the best example of Yeasayer's heart-wrenching emotion and thrill would be their 2008 recording with LaBlogotheque, a French group that helped coin the term 'takeaway shows' -where a band plays sans instrument/electricity.

Enjoy.

New Favorite Comedian

If you've ever seen the movie Funny People, it's really not that funny..
But if you remember the comedian in the movie by the stage name "Raaaandy" then you might know that his real name is in fact Aziz Ansari, and HE is flippin' hilarious!
Check him out in the show Parks & Recreation too, it's kind of like The Office

One Day Ultimate Mashup

This is a hectic mashup done by a group called Mashup-Germany. First time I've ever heard of them but they have some nice remixes and this one is beaaast.
Using Matisyahu's 'One Day' as the main backtrack, this song includes Blink 182, John Lennon, Bob Marley, and more.

Jessica Simpson, where has your love gone?

It's not in your music, no..
So it has been a long time since I listened to this song but it definitely sparked some old memories. I swear I was 16 when I first heard this in my computer science class as the background music for someone's video. I thought a song about a famous celebrity being fed cortisone from her son-in-law was hilarious and at the same time, I luhhve his voice.

The E*TRADE baby commercials are by far the best ones out there. So much sass!!

Here's a joke,

What are the worst STD's?

(Answer below video)

Babies.

Smart Kids Usually Scare Me

But this girl has got the right idea.. about a lot of things.
This is why I ultimately want to work with children in the future. They're always full of good ideas.

How Else Would a Cat React?

Truly funny.

Yeah, on the weekends I do a little wingsuitin', no big deal.

If you could find me the information on where, when, and how to ever be able to try and wingsuit base jump, I swear I might just save up the money to do it one day.

Coolest sport ever with some pretty epic views. Oh, and a little drum n bass action.

I've Proven My Dedication

Have you ever seen a band four times?
and not trying to brag, but do they recognize you at their shows?
Well that is the connection the White Rabbits and I share, even if it just involves me shaking the bands' hands a little too vigorously after a show.

Well today I bought my 5th ever ticket to see my favorite live band, the White Rabbits.
So with use links Ill try to show you why I think they are the best-kept-secret-band on the circuit today.

1. The recordings just don't do justice to the shear volume of their live show (they have two drummers!)

2. They never play a song the same way live as it sounds on their recordings. Every live show is something completely new!

3. They truly do it for the fans and for the love of the music. Very intense and personal stage presence

EXAMPLE:

As I said before, I've seen these guys four times now. Since the week after they released their first LP to almost a year after the release of their second, I have been extremely familiar with their sound(s).

I first fell in love with this B-side that I heard them play at two shows but had never found online. The song was so popular that when it hit the web in .mp3 it was only recognized as 'Untitled'

You can hear there very first version of this song HERE

SAME SONG, but almost 2 or 3 years later, I finally heard it with its new name 'The Lady Vanishes' on their second LP 'It's Frightening'.
In my opinion, it was one of the weakest songs on the album..
Much too vocal-y and guitar-y y'know?

But then I saw them in concert for the fourth time(after the release of It's Frightening) and they COMPLETELY CHANGED the song, Again!
It was awesome, firs thing that came to my mind was a Mission Impossible type feel with a low bass that makes you feel like you're being chased.

So here is the original It's Frightening version of The Lady Vanishes, and the next video is the LIVE, AWESOME version.

CHECK IT OUT !
